Speaker 1:

What's up guys. I wanted to share with you my main takeaways from going to Tony Robbins UPW Unleash the Power Within event in I think it was Sydney, it was in in Sydney, australia, and it was absolutely an experience, that's for sure. So if you guys don't know who Tony Robbins is, I'm assuming most of you guys do, but he is a master nlp coach and he has been studying personal development and personal growth and business and health for like 45 to 50 years. I think it's like the longest time I remember I was listening to some of his old processes and programs that he created like I would say, 30 years ago. It was like maybe not unleash the power within or unleash awaken the giant within or something like that, like his old school recordings, and it's awesome to see that tony has been repeating the same lessons for the longest period of time and it's just made them bigger and better and bigger and better and bigger and better and bigger and better, which is really cool. And it's awesome to see how he has such a grasp on NLP and he can just make people you know change their state.

Speaker 1:

But I do have some criticisms. I do have some criticisms not so much on the event because the event was extremely well run and it was like insane everything that they went through and they just like jam pack a lot of learning. And I know through running retreats myself people have to stick to learning those lessons afterwards and be held accountable to to keep using them. But the thing is is myself personally I don't find the change of state thing too powerful. Like I find having to change your state sometimes when you're in grief or you're like super down and you can change your state and you go, yeah, you change it. Then it lasts for like 10-20 minutes and then it can go away because the next sort of grief comes up and you're going to change it again. And I find it can be quite exhausting at times to try to change your state like that. However, there's a lot of magic that happens in the meantime, but essentially the change of state is like this nlp thing where throughout the event what you're doing is you're continuously, continuously changing your state. Like tony will bring you into moments of grief or anger or shame or something like that, and then he'll make you change your state and then rise it up and make your state feel so incredibly amazing and then keep that and hold that and then bring you down and then change your state again and he'll do that for hours. So there'll just be like a couple of hours there of just like reprogramming your mind and your body to, you know, change its state and it works over the weekend. But I find the amount of effort for it is huge because there's, you know, there's still a lot of thinking evolved and there is a lot.

Speaker 1:

There is some somatic work that tony robbins does, but I found that I'm more of a somatic type of person and that's my. One sort of somatic is doing work with the body which is sort of bypasses your brain, because your brain goes to your body essentially when you behavioral change. It's like you make these decisions in life and you have certain behaviors and because you're thinking a certain way, that'll influence how your body reacts to what you're doing. Now the thing is is you can completely short circuit that doing somatic work. Where you know somatic work is breath work, it's nervous system, nervous system reconditioning. So, like leadership training, it is certain exercises and releases that you can do. It is also getting outside of your comfort zone in in certain ways, like, let's say, you have a block around money, so to increase your nervous system capacity, you have to go and ask someone on the streets to buy you something over a counter for like $100, right, and you just go. Holy shit, when you go up and ask someone, you notice what your nervous system does. And then people who have somatic practicing they know that when you get triggered sometimes people will like lay down where's the pain and they'll put pressure on it. And then they go where's the next pain, where's the pain? And they'll put pressure on it and they go where's the next pain, where's the other pain? They put their hands all over your body and figure out where the pain's coming from. You have an emotional release, the the pain has left your body and now you're actually left feeling lighter. The thing with nlp is you have to get to the brain first, make sense of it before the body. So I believe having both of them mixed in together is like the best way to go about it.

Speaker 1:

And yes, in UPW you do walk over fire, which is completely insane and one of the biggest rushes that I've ever had in my life and that is like some intimacy of less people is, I think, way better for having you know, like a massive transformation. I mean the event itself, I think, is completely maxed out for what it does in terms of for the amount of people that go there, like you get. There is so much benefit that you get and do. I recommend it absolutely. I think everyone should go. It's one of the best. It's not even introduction, like it's pretty full-on into the work in terms of learning, and I haven't done date with destiny and I know that's a whole nother thing and you know there's a lot going on there. But I also know a lot of people get sick, like the Tony Robbins flu that people get because there's so many people in the one spot.

Speaker 1:

Just like having trend, like doing transformational um work. So that is my one criticism. I like that there was a lot of people there, because I got to network with a lot of people, and my other criticism would be around the the uh, like the work. So, in terms of the worksheet for things that we get, I think it's awesome. However, as someone who really loves depth, I'm like this is just like a simple framework that we can use and it's hard for me to stick to. This is just me personally, because it's not deep enough. There's not something I can read up on this or like further the reading, and it's all intellectual based and it's not enough, not philosophically inclined for me to get like my teeth into it. There's no. Whilst I'm learning, like looking at the techniques, things that they use, I'm not like making any new connections in my brain, so it's not like extremely stimulating. So, and that's it.

Speaker 1:

Other than those two criticisms, I thought the event ran extremely smoothly. The, the highs that you feel during the event is absolutely insane. The people that you meet and the networking, I believe, is second to none. You're just meeting people, people from all around the world that are wanting to do better and to change, and and what you do learn is extremely practical and useful and it works. But what I do notice is that I've seen a lot of people copy tony roberts stuff and then like, like use it in their coaching before and I think, honestly, I think it's like fine, because of the work I believe needs to get out there.

Speaker 1:

Um, however it's, I think for other people when they're either using the work, it's take what you've learned from Tony Robbins, apply it to something new and then create your own system, cause I believe that uniqueness of like. Okay, what were the exact steps that you use to have your breakthrough or get to where you are? That is, like the most important, because I've had people reach out to me over the last couple of weeks of wanting to use what I've created because the stuff that I've created and set the standard is completely unique into using their programs. I'm like hell yes, absolutely use it, but please just mention, like my name. So I believe if people are using tony robbins stuff, they should like quote him, or if they're using something similar to break stuff down, um.

Speaker 1:

But I encourage people to go a little bit deeper and to you know, come up with their own processes when they, when they teach stuff, because I believe that that's what makes you unique and it's a lot more authentic and it's actually more powerful because it's coming from you. But putting your life into what tony tony does and using it, I believe is extremely powerful to create some structure and get an idea on the exact process that you want to go through. The only thing that I find I let was left with after upw in this in terms of results was I was still just a little bit uncertain, um around which way I wanted to do things, but everything else got blasted through the roof. But that was just a me thing, that's not a Tony Robbins thing. That's just how I was growing, so I love the event. It was awesome.

Speaker 1:

Would I go again? Yes, absolutely. I think it's one of the best things that I've done. Am I excited for date with destiny? One of these other retreats? Yes, I'm so excited for that, but I hope you guys took some wisdom from this. I hope, if you're thinking about going, do it. If you want to go deeper, though, and you are someone who craves depth and more intimacy with people, then I would highly recommend going to a more intimate retreat, like one of mine. So we have a retreat called you know, set the standard retreat. You speak the next level. We've just changed the name. We've got two in 2025. There may be some more. You can head to coreyboutwellcom to find them, or head to you know set the standard movement or set the standard Instagram to find all the details on there as well, and if not mine, there's plenty of others that are out there which are really cool.

Speaker 1:

Ours are for men and they're just deep, transformational. We help people get really clear on purpose and transforming through anger and the last day. We focus all on business, so everyone creates a plan. That's one thing that I find with some retreats that I would like more time with is working with the facilitators to go okay, what do I do now? Like you've learned me, you understand me, I've had these breakthroughs. How can I now apply this to my daily life? What are the little micro things that I can do and the big things that I can do to send it forwards? And I believe that that's missing from a lot of retreats. So we make sure that we do that in hours. So that's something unique. You know that we have that we think really works for people. And if you're
